Bookkeeping options
Once you are fully set up on your choice of software, I will provide a regular service tailored to your business needs. You choose the reporting frequency and I’ll keep your books up to date and compliant with the relevant legislation. I’ll even work with your charity accountant on your independent examination or audit to produce the financial statements and reports stress free.
Excel
This is best option for new start-up businesses and new charities that don’t have any grants needing reported on. Due to MTD, this is not an option once your business income passes the £10k threshold but it’s a helpful way for fledgling business owners to learn the ropes and monitor cash flow without the expense of software.
As most people choosing this option want to do their books themselves, I offer templates, training, and a backup option. Alternatively, you can delegate the entire job to me, and I’ll keep you updated on how your books are looking, even helping to produce the management and trustee reports.
Liberty Accounts
I recommend this cloud accounting option for all my charities because it was designed by an accountant for charities. While the management reports are not as flexible as other programs, this is the only provider I’ve found that offers proper SoRP reports including the ability to analyse all income and expenditure by grant, making reporting back to donors a doddle.
Trust me to do all the bookkeeping, leaving your treasurer time to enjoy the reports or opt for a more hands on approach. It’s up to you.
QuickBooks
Cloud accounting designed for small to medium size businesses that are MTD ready or want the simplicity of "bookkeeping on the go".
This popular accounting package is widely recognised as a brand leader. I can set you up and teach you the ropes, working together to produce beautifully balanced books.
